Senior Spotlight 2026: Stanley Fang

Posted on May 4, 2026

Watch how senior Stanley Fang harnesses the power of technology to explore deeply personal narratives.

Originally from Taiwan, Stanley Fang’s (BFA ’26) earliest interest in art started with manga and anime — genres that evolved, for him, into a fascination with computer-generated imagery. As a BFA student pursuing minors in Animation and Japanese, Fang utilizes 3D computer graphics to explore deeply personal narratives, drawing from his everyday life. His work blurs the boundaries between traditional mediums and contemporary technology, creating surreal, intimate stories that highlight the beauty in the overlooked.

In this spotlight, Fang shares how being at CMU has helped him be more curious and why working with peers across other disciplines is a key part of being introspective in his process.
